Putting The Yard Back In Yard Haunt

Last year we built new cemetery post columns and moved our 25+ years old prop headstones from the side of the garage out to the yard between our maple tree and driveway. The slope of our front yard was very problematic and required lots of shimming and staking of the cemetery props to keep things from falling over (weather was horrible last year with strong winds and rain). A couple weeks after Halloween 2025 was over, the power company dug up our front yard to fix a fault in an underground powerline. Their post job yard repair and clean up resulted in a moon sized crater depression in our front yard after a very snowy winter and wet spring. And the grass seed they put down came in sparse and looked awful. So as the saying goes, "if you want to do it right, do it yourself", so we did! And since we had to bring in a truck load of bulk soil and buy quality grass seed anyway, we decided to address some of the slope issues regarding our Halloween prop cemetery area. Hopefully with a lot of TLC, you'll never notice this particular "yard haunt build" by fall!
