Voodoo Themed Yard Haunt 20th Anniversary

20 years ago we did a Voodoo themed yard haunt for Halloween 2003. The haunt theme was inspired by the 1966 Hammer Horror film "The Plague Of Zombies". We're reimagining our 2003 haunt with a Haunted Bayou themed haunt for Halloween 2023. Below are photos from our 2003 haunt along with the movie trailer that inspired it.

    WONDERFUL photos! I love the idea of you guys revisiting a past theme. I absolutely love it.

      We're pretty much at the stage where we're going to be cycling through our favorite 5 haunt themes each year now. We'll try to give each revisit a slightly different twist/reimagining, but we're not going to try to "reinvent the wheel" so to speak each and every Halloween now. If we're still alive and kicking, 2024 we'll revisit the Ghost theme, 2025 we'll revisit the Devil theme, and 2026 would be a Vampire theme, and then we'd circle back to the Classic Monsters theme for 2027. Creepy Carnival/Scary Clowns is off the table, we felt we covered that theme enough between 2016 and 2020. Scarecrows is another theme off the table, mostly because disposing of the corn stalks and hay bales is difficult for us because our town doesn't do clean fill/yard debris collection like our previous town did. We've got a spot in our back yard for composting our jack-o-lanterns, and that's about all we can handle.
