Updates about Haunted Eve's Halloween yard haunt, Halloween pumpkin jack-o'-lantern carving, Halloween decorations, prop building, and other Halloween happenings.
Super haunts - I wonder how they attached their skeletons to the side of their house?
ReplyDeleteThat's a good question! Based on the weight of those plastic skeletons and potential gusts of wind, it's got to be something substantial. We were going to put our 5' tall skeleton up along our front roof line back in 2019 and they were just too big and heavy for the task, and we instead bought a bunch of 2' tall skeletons to sit on top of the gutters and even those required a bunch of cable ties attached to the inner gutter hangers and we still had to fix them several times due to strong winds changing their positions. Ended up using hot melt glue on their hip and knee joints. For creepy cloth and other light weight hanging decorations on our house we use 7/8 inch cup hooks painted with Rustoleum to match the color of our siding, but those are all up high protected by the roof eaves.
DeleteThat's fantastic! My parents sent me pictures of a house they drove by that had some 15 ft tall skeletons in the yard! That was crazy to see, too. I love driving past these scenes in October. Honestly, I'd love it any time of the year.
ReplyDeleteThese are all so spooky and charming. Brings me back to my childhood days of driving around and looking at all the decorations.
